Rupali grew up in India and took art lessons through middle and high school and enjoyed them a lot. She came to Arizona to study Computer Science at Arizona State University. She worked in that field for nearly two decades, but stayed connected with art, taking classes at the local community college, running an art meetup group, making cards and gifts for friends and family, and attending online painting workshops. Since 2018 she has raised funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through the sale of prints and cards of her watercolor paintings and pet portrait commissions.

Rupali is enamored with the interaction of pigment and water - on the palette and on paper, and the spontaneity and transparency of watercolors. She is drawn to the play of light to create highlights and shadows and enjoys creating a three-dimensional effect on two dimensional paper. She primarily paints florals and animals (wild and domestic) in a realistic style. She aspires to paint landscapes in a looser style.

Rupali is a member of the Arizona Watercolor Association and volunteers as the website assistant and eBlast publisher. Her paintings have been accepted in exhibitions organized by Shemer Art Center, Herberger Theater Center, Arizona Center for Nature Conservation and the West Valley Arts Center. She has also painted numerous pet portrait commissions.
