Watercolor/Collage/Mixed Media
Sherry has been studying painting in watercolor and acrylics for the past eight years at Glendale Community College. She is a juried member and past President of the Arizona Watercolor Association. Before becoming President of AWA, Sherry was the delegate representing AWA for the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies in Denver, Colorado, 2007. She has recently received her Signature Member Status of The Contemporary Watercolorists of Arizona.
Sherry loves transparent watercolor because this medium allows light to pass through, thus the interplay between shadows and light is intensely beautiful. She has traveled extensively throughout the Southwest and loves to paint the beauty of the desert. Sherry loves the challenge of using a very limited palette (usually three colors) in her paintings. It’s very exciting to see in which direction the paintings go. Enjoy!
