There is something about the creative process that is mystical.

Recently, I started painting with a flat palette knife to avoid unnecessary details. Using an underpainting of different colors allows some colors to peek through and creates a certain vibrancy and excitement. This process also invites an abstract quality to the painting, sometimes whimsical, but always a surprise at the end.

Artist Statement:
Art is a creative flow of energy. You cannot force it, sometimes it allows you to guide it and often it takes you on a journey into the unknown. One moment you think you understand the creative process, the next moment you wonder if you will ever master the mystery. But it is the mystery that brings you back to try again.
