“When I have a paint brush in my hand, I am the luckiest person in the world!”

Elle Gould comes from a family of artists. Her Grandmother, Mother, and Aunt were all fine artists, and her cousin and daughter are currently artists too. Elle has Ph.D.’s in Psychology and Sociology, so naturally, she is drawn to people and to other living things. “Things that walk” are my favorite subjects to paint. People and animals frequent my paper, and I let these tell stories without words. “Spoken without words” is my goal in painting, thus each of my paintings tells a story. “I only work in watercolor and acrylic and I only paint on paper. I love the way my colors magically mix on my palette and on my paper to give me surprises and much joy.”

Elle studies with Charles Reid, Ted Nuttall, and Betsy Dillard Stroud, and also takes classes with other wonderful artists.

“Learning is a part of growth. You need to really work at it to be better every single day. I study constantly, drawing, sketching, reading, and painting so that I improve as an artist and as a viewer of our world. I try to incorporate techniques that are clearly outside of my comfort zone, so that I can stretch myself.”

Elle is a member of Arizona Watercolor Association, Colorado Watercolor Association, San Diego Watercolor Association, New Mexico Watercolor Association, Glenwood Springs Artists Guild, Arizona Portrait Society, Arizona Artists Guild, Transparent Watercolor Society of America, and other associations. In addition to her painting, Elle also has studied photography with John Sexton, Judy Dater, Jerry Ulesman, and other incredible photographers, and has photographed images all over the world. Elle Gould has participated and attained awards from many juried art exhibits throughout the USA and internationally as well. 100% of her sales prices go to charity, mainly dog shelters and animal rescue organizations.
